| | | | | | | | Policy/Action Requested:
Adopt Resolution R2023-128, accepting US Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Community Oriented Policing Services’ (COPS) Law Enforcement Mental Health and Wellness (LEMH&W) grant award and authorizing the City Administrator to execute the necessary contracts and agreements applicable to accepting this award. | | |
| | | | | | | | Recommendation:

| | | | | | | | Discussion: At its March 21, 2023 meeting, Council approved the application to the DOJ Office of COPS’s LEMH&W grant. The LEMH&W grant is providing funding to improve the delivery of and access to mental health and wellness services for law enforcement officers through the implementation of training, family resources, suicide prevention, and other promising practices for wellness. The Shakopee Police Department currently operates the Check-up from the Neck Up program. This grant funding would be used to strengthen and expand the current program. | | |
