Approve declaring an old safe by York Safe & Lock Co. surplus property and authorize its disposal. | | |

The Fire Department has an old safe stored on the mezzanine of Fire Station 1. It is believed to have come from the old Fire Station on 2nd and Scott St. Its history prior to that is not known. The Fire Department has no need for it and it's taking up too much space. Staff has reached out to the historical society and they don't have the room to store it. Staff also researched traditional disposal which could cost up to $500. Staff was able to locate a person who will pick up the safe at no cost and use it for a historic display. | | |
