| | | | | | | | Subject: Minnesota DNR Conservation Partners Legacy Expedited Projects Grant Application | | |
| | | | | | | | Policy/Action Requested: Adopt Resolution R2024-033, approving an application to the Minnesota (MN) DNR Conservation Partners Legacy (CPL) Expedited Projects program grant. | | |
| | | | | | | | Recommendation: Adopt Resolution R2024-033. | | |
| | | | | | | | Discussion: MN DNR provides grants through the CPL program to fund the restoration, protection, and enhancement of prairies, wetlands, forests, and habitats for fish, game, and wildlife in Minnesota. The City of Shakopee is requesting $50,000 to restore three turfed areas throughout the city back to natural prairie. These locations tentatively include a portion of Prairie Bend Park, Scenic Heights Parks, and an area adjacent to the Community Center. | | |
| | | | | | | | Budget Impact: The grant requires a 10% match and will be provided through the Engineering Department’s Surface Water Fund. | | |
