Discussion:
Kraus Anderson's fee and staff time has been approved previously for $330,000. This additional $70,000 is a contingency for General Conditions.
This would be items that the city would be paying for beyond BIFs or dumpsters but for items that Kraus Anderson might need to perform or purchase with city staff approval that may need to be done quickly to ensure that there is not a lag in the project's delivery. This work could be performed by Kraus Anderson staff.
This agreement and amount is similar to what the EDA had with River City Centre where Kraus Anderson staff did some work that would have been done by another subcontractor but needed to be done prior to other work and the contractor with that work scope was not on site or available at that time. There were deducts on their contracts if Kraus Anderson did work.
This would also serve as a contingency should they need to purchase an item (ie wood trim or flashing) that was not called out on the plans that they identify as an issue in the field. This would also cover punch list items that are small that they could finish quickly.
