In 2020 the Shakopee Fire Department converted to a 24/7 staffing model, and as a result needed to construct temporary living quarters in order to accommodate overnight staff in the fire station. While the temporary living quarters have served our department well, a more permanent solution is needed for the health, welfare, and comfort of our staff. 

In August of 2023 staff entered into a contract with CNH Architects to begin work on the remodel of the existing facility. Now that architectural and design services are nearing completion the city will need to retain a construction manager to oversee the bidding and construction phase of the project.

Terra Construction has a clear understanding of the project goals and needs, and has significant experience completing  similar municipal and public safety projects in the region.  This comprehensive proposal is for construction management services for the duration of the current phase of the project. If approved, Terra Construction would manage the advertisement for bids, collection and tabulation of bids, construction observation, pay application review, and contractor relations. Project bids would be brought before City Council prior to work being completed.
