MN DPS provides funding to Minnesota’s local units of government to support creating and/or maintaining a Safe Ride Program that provides safe transportation options for patrons of local hospitality and entertainment businesses within their community. The Shakopee Police Department currently operates a Safe Ride Program on specific holiday dates. Due to limited cab company operation within Shakopee, the program has remained small while the needs of the program have continued to grow. The funding would be obtained to supplement the existing program, working with existing cab companies in the area to enhance its current offerings. | | |
