| | | | | | | | Subject: Cooperative Agreement with Scott County for Construction and Maintenance of a multi-use trail along CH 18 from Whispering Oaks Trail to an existing multi-use trail at the municipal boundary with Prior Lake. | | |
| | | | | | | | Policy/Action Requested: Approve Cooperative Agreement with Scott County for the CH 18 multi-use trail project. | | |
| | | | | | | | Recommendation: Approval of the Agreement. | | |
| | | | | | | | Discussion:
The Scott County adopted Transportation Capital Improvement Plan (TIP) and City adopted Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) programs the construction of a multi-use trail along County Highway (CH) 18 between Whispering Oaks Trail and an existing trail just south of the Prior Lake municipal boundary. The improvements are proposed to fill a gap in the existing trail network along the county road within Shakopee, improving multi-modal connecting for Shakopee residents.
The Cooperative Agreement will establish the City and County's responsibilities and cost to complete and maintain the improvements. | | |
| | | | | | | | Budget Impact:
The City Council awarded a contract with S.M. Hentges and Sons to complete the project at its April 16, 2024 meeting. Following completion of the improvements, the County will reimburse the City $42,894.80 for the project, including construction, engineering, administration and contingency costs.
