The Make Up Air Unit (MAU) is a requirement for the city to provide in Tommy's lease since it a permanent part of the build's mechanical system.  This was not included in the original cost estimate by the previous contractor.  KA asked for proposals and found that SCR was the most cost competitive.  

A makeup air unit (MUA) is a vital component of restaurant kitchens, because it replaces air that's being removed by exhaust hoods. The unit pulls in fresh outdoor air and conditions it to match the indoor temperature, then supplies it to the kitchen to maintain a balanced airflow. This process helps to:

Control temperature: Prevents poor temperature control.

Maintain air pressure: Avoids negative air pressure.

Improve air quality: Promotes efficient extraction of pollutants like smoke, grease, and odors.

Reduces back drafting: Prevents drafts from outside slamming open windows and doors, or forcing their way through cracks and holes in walls.

MUAs are typically installed on the roof or in a mechanical room.  Victus (Mechanical Engineer) is proposing a rooftop unit (RTU) that will temper a mixture of air from the space and a small amount of outdoor air.  The unit will be screened on the rood as required by code.
