FROM:Alex Jordan, City Engineer
TO:Mayor and Council Members
Subject:
Accept Quotes and Award Contract to Bituminous Roadways, Inc. for the Stans Tennis Court Resurfacing project.
Policy/Action Requested:
Approve a contract with Bituminous Roadways, Inc. for the Stans Tennis Court Resurfacing project, in the amount of $119,574.00.
Recommendation:
Approve contract as requested.
Discussion:

The City's adopted Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) programs the resurfacing of the tennis courts at Stans Park in 2024. The tennis courts have reached their useful life and the improvements are proposed to remove the existing courts and replace with a new bituminous surface and paint.

Quotes for the improvements were solicited and opened on July 26, 2024. Two quotes were received and Bituminous Roadways, Inc. is the low bidder in the amount of $119,574.00 (see attached quote tabulation) This quote does not include painting of the court. A separate quote will be received for painting. The engineer's estimate for the improvements, including painting was $144,000. Bituminous Roadways, Inc. has the capacity and experience for the project and is deemed a responsible bidder.

Budget Impact:

The CIP programs a total project cost of $149,000 for the improvements. The table below details the cost and funding summary comparing the CIP budget to the updated budget based on the low quote received.
