Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources’ Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund Program Grant

Adopt Resolution R2024-109, approving the updated phrasing of the resolution continuing to support the application to the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources’ (LCCMR) Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund (ENRTF) program grant.

LCCMR provides funding through its ENRTF grant program aimed at supplementing traditional funding sources to protect, conserve, preserve, and enhance Minnesota’s air, water, land, fish, wildlife, and other natural resources. The ENRTF program is funded via a percentage of Minnesota Lottery profits.

The City of Shakopee applied for the ENRTF grant program via Resolution R2024-041 on March 19, 2024, for the Riverbank Stabilization project. The funding requested for the Riverbank Stabilization project will help offset the cost of the ongoing project.

LCCMR’s review committee has recommended the Riverbank Stabilization project for funding under the ENRTF program. To move forward in the selection process, LCCMR requires an updated resolution approving the additional phrasing in the attached resolution.

The grant requires a 25% match. The project has already been budgeted for and any funds received will help offset the cost of the planned project. The project’s match will be provided by the Storm Drainage Fund.
