Approve the purchase of five complete sets of firefighter turnout gear to replace five sets of expired gear. 

Firefighter turnout gear must be replaced in 10-year cycles to ensure the ensemble meets performance and wear standards set by the National Fire Protection Agency. This year, we have five sets of gear that must be replaced under this standard. The gear is purchased through an area vendor utilizing a regional purchasing consortium to ensure competitive pricing. The new gear is consistent with our existing ensembles and meets NFPA requirements. 

Funding for replacement turnout gear is included in the uniform account of the fire department's annual budget.
