Adopt Resolution R2024-125, accepting the Minnesota Department of Public Safety’s (MN DPS) DWI/Traffic Safety Officer (DWI/TSO) grant award and authorizing the City Administrator to execute the necessary contracts and agreements applicable to accepting this award. | | |

At its July 16, 2024 meeting, Council approved the application to the MN DPS DWI/TSO grant. The DWI/TSO grant provides funding to law enforcement agencies to hire an officer to work during peak nights and times when data indicates impaired driving will most likely occur. While primarily seeking to detect and interdict impaired drivers, the DWI/TS Officer will also focus on the dangerous driving behaviors of speeding, distracted driving, and occupant protection. | | |
